Ogden’s Upbeat Western Anthem Arrives September 15th, The National Day Of The Cowgirl, As She Announces Partnership With 40 Something Cowgirls

NASHVILLE, TN — September 15, 2026 — Award-winning Americana/country singer-songwriter Shantell Ogden celebrates the women who embrace the Western way of life with the release of her new upbeat single, “Cowgirlin',” available today on all streaming platforms globally.

Released to align with the National Day of the Cowgirl, “Cowgirlin’” was co-written with hit songwriters Steve Dean (“Watching You”/Rodney Atkins and “Round About Way”/George Strait) and Bill Whyte (“Crickets,”/Joe Nichols and “Moon Shines on the Still”/Dailey & Vincent). “Cowgirlin’” was inspired by Ogden’s own experiences growing up riding horses on her third generation family farm.

“I had the title idea for my co-write with Steve and Bill about a hard-working cowgirl,” reflects Ogden. “I shared some memories about herding cows in the summer and rodeoing on the weekends, and within a couple of hours, we had the song written. It’s an anthem for cowgirls who aren’t afraid to get a little dirt under their nails — or get rowdy with their friends!”

Produced and recorded in Nashville by Dave Smith (Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood), “Cowgirlin’” is intentionally acoustically driven, keeping the focus on the song and story, as well as Ogden’s distinctive voice. It combines the warmth of traditional country instrumentation with an easygoing, fun-loving modern spirit. Smith’s acoustic guitar tracks create the feel of a back-porch sing-along, while Johnny Carpenter’s fiddle (Tracy Byrd and Sammy Kershaw), brings an unmistakable dose of Western soul. Listen HERE.

The accompanying music video, filmed just outside Nashville with support from Hollywood Hooves, showcases panoramic views of middle Tennessee. "I love how we captured the autentic spirit of being a cowgirl," Ogden adds. It was produced by Hip Farm Chic Records, directed by Athanasios Laxarou, and is premiering worldwide exclusively on The Country Note through September 17th, when it will officially be released. This exciting new release also marks the beginning of Ogden’s new partnership with 40 Something Cowgirls (40SC), a nationwide sisterhood of women 21 and older who share a love of horses, adventure, friendship, and the Western lifestyle. Ogden will serve as an official spokesperson for the organization.

“As a cowgirl myself, with deep Western roots and a lifelong love of horses and music, this partnership is incredibly personal,” says Ogden. “I’m honored to use my voice to celebrate and share the stories of these amazing women and to promote their new scholarship program coming soon.”

Founded by Kristi Williams, 40 Something Cowgirls has grown over the past 15 years to 52 chapters and nearly 2,000 members across the United States. Ogden and 40SC will also collaborate on a special lyric video for “Cowgirlin,’” featuring members of the organization. Additional opportunities with 40SC chapters are being planned for later this fall, and together, they will soon be announcing the new scholarship program.
